Lijiang is on the most important position of Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La classic tourist route. Most travelers would like to put Lijiang into a long Yunnan tour and make it a middle stop. Flights to Lijiang
The airport in Lijiang is called Lijiang Sanyi Airport (IATA：LJG), which is the second largest airport in Yunnan after Kunming Changshui International Airport. Travelers can take flights to Lijiang from Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Kunming, Xian, Chongqing, Changsha, Guiyang, Lhasa, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Xishuangbanna and more cities. International flights can connect Lijiang with Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore, Seoul and more regions.
Lijiang Sanyi Airport is about 29 kilometers south of Lijiang Old Town. To get to the airport to Lijiang Old Town (Dayan Old Town), it needs about 40 minutes by driving.
High Speed Trains to Lijiang
Taking a high speed train to Lijiang is also a popular choice for most travelers. At present, high speed trains are limited, linking Lijiang with Kunming (about 3-3.5 hours) and Guilin (about 10.5 hours). Normal trains are served Lijiang with Dali (about 2 hours).
